Details

Women make up a considerable proportion of the UK workforce, with 15.66 million women over the age of 16 reported to have been in employment in the period October to December 2022. This is particularly true for the legal sector where, according to the SRA, 52% of lawyers in law firms in 2021 were women (based on diversity data published in 2022).

All women are likely to experience challenges related to their health – challenges specific to women – throughout their employment lifecycle. The most common may be categorised as the Four “M”s: Monthlies, Miscarriage, Motherhood/Maternity and Menopause. It is vital that firms are aware of these challenges and their likely impact on individuals so that they can take steps to best support their female employees in dealing with them at work and to enable them to have long and fulfilling careers (an ideal outcome for all concerned).

Please join us for a panel-led discussion on women’s health in the workplace in which experts in their field will discuss the various health challenges faced by women at work, the employment law rights and implications of those and best practice insights and practical tips on how firms can support their female workforce.
