Details

The focus on equality, diversity and inclusion in law firms continues. This has included a broadening-out from a focus on gender issues, to encompass – in particular – social mobility, race, and religion.

Chris Holme and Vicki Jervis of Clyde & Co will lead this in-person session, and will cover the following:

  • an update on the latest regulatory expectations;
  • an update on the current “market standard” approach of law firms to EDI; and
  • an update on family leave policies, the rationale for progressive policies, and the necessity for them in relation to the gender pay gap.

In advance of the session we will be sending out a survey focusing on family leave policies and EDI policies so that we can share amongst all participants details of what law firms are doing in this area.

We will also be joined by Kate Mathias, Global HRD at Clyde & Co, who will talk specifically about the recent updates to Clyde & Co’s family leave policies to provide matching leave and enhanced pay for new parents, regardless of their sex. Kate will cover the challenges of bringing such a policy in, the rationale for it, and the latest results from it.
