In this session, Fiona Hathorn, CEO of Women on Boards Directors, will outline the career and company benefits of being a board member, Trustee or Governor alongside your day job. Fiona will also discuss why it is so important that senior leads and the ‘People and Legal Teams’ understand why it is never too early (or late!) to explore opportunities. Fiona will explain the support and services offered to full members by the WB Directors network. She will also explore how Shadow, Advisory and employee representatives interacting with Boards can be used to bring diverse insights into the boardroom to challenge and inform senior executives.

Fiona will then hand over to Pauline Caldwell, Founder & Director at Momentum Business Consulting, who has a passion for supporting fellow HR professionals in expanding their board experience and will share her personal experiences and the lessons learnt on her journey to becoming an NED. A panel discussion will follow, with opportunities for Q&A from the floor.
